Hello Egno, to start, we’d like to know a little about you and your background. Where are you from and how did you come to work for us?
Even if you can’t tell by looking at me, I’m a ‘Fischkopp’ (fish-head; colloquial German term for people who grew up in a coastal town). I was born in Lomé (Togo) on the west coast of Africa and grew up in Kiel (Schleswig-Holstein).
Almost 9 years ago I decided to move to Berlin and leave the coast, the fresh breeze, fish rolls and rainy weather behind me. What was I thinking!? 😀
In Berlin I met my husband, we entered the port of marriage and enlarged our little family with two French Bulldogs.
What are the Collection Team’s tasks and what does your work as a Team Lead look like?
As Collection employees, we have a direct line to consumers, entrepreneurs, authorities and also clients. Our teams do their best to provide a fabulous service.
Collection with heart is not just a slogan for us. We live debt collection with 💛 in our daily work. What does that mean exactly? We see consumers, but also entrepreneurs, as people and make sure that each of them has the opportunity to receive the solution that is right for them individually. After all, it can happen to anyone that an invoice or reminder has been overlooked. Our message is very clear: We will find the perfect solution for you!
My main tasks as Team Lead Collection include supporting the teams in their daily work, ensuring that everything runs smoothly, and always keeping an eye on our defined goals. Furthermore, I introduce new processes, optimize existing processes and regularly exchange ideas with other departments.
How would you describe the culture at PAIR Finance?
PAIR is refreshing, flexible, modern and very successful. In my short time at PAIR – which feels significantly longer – I have always been able to experience togetherness. I have received so much support especially within the Collection team, for which I am very grateful. I value sincerity, good relationships, loyalty and a clear vision. PAIR Finance can provide all of that.
Tell us about your team at PAIR Finance!
We are the Collection Team: dynamic, humorous and with a lot of heart. Teamwork comes naturally to us and we all strive to improve the collections market by being tolerant and compassionate.
And what is your life like outside the office?
I spend my free time mostly with my husband, our two dogs, family and friends. We love to explore new corners of Berlin, cook together, go to the movies – mixed popcorn – or just sink into good series and books.
What is your favorite place in Berlin?
The Viktoriapark in Kreuzberg.
What was the most surprising moment of your first weeks?
My packed onboarding schedule as well as the many faces and corresponding names in all the virtual meetings.
When it became possible to work in the office again, the way Philipp (my Team Lead colleague at the time and now supervisor) took me along to all appointments and his lunch spots as a matter of course and introduced me to everyone.
