PAIR Finance launches in Norway to change how the debt collection industry talks to people
  • Norway becomes PAIR Finance‘s 13th market, extending the Group’s expansion across the Nordics
  • Nordic team grows: Fredrik Green, who already leads the Swedish business, takes on Norway as Managing Director and Mattias Vestman joins from Sergel Group
  • AI-based debt collection that protects customer relationships, not just receivables

Oslo/Berlin, 22 October 2026 – PAIR Finance, Europe’s leading AI debt collection platform, today launches in Norway. The fintech company opens its first office in Oslo’s financial district and builds a local team, marking its 13th market and continuing its growth across the Nordic region after entering Sweden in 2024. Fredrik Green, who already leads PAIR Finance’s Swedish business, becomes Managing Director for Norway. He brings extensive experience in payments and e-commerce and helped establish Klarna in Norway. He is joined by Mattias Vestman, who spent the past 11 years at Sergel Group, most recently as Nordic Chief Commercial Officer. PAIR Finance serves more than 600 well-known clients from all industries across Europe.

Norway has one of Europe’s most cashless, digital-first consumer bases. People in Norway move seamlessly between banking apps and mobile payments. In debt collection, they still meet an industry that has rarely kept pace with how differently people manage their finances today.

PAIR Finance is built for exactly that. It combines artificial intelligence, data science, and behavioural psychology for hyper-personalised communication across six dimensions: tone, timing, channel, frequency, style, and payment options. From 30,000 communication strategies, PAIR Finance distills one recommendation and solution for each person.

The system adjusts several parameters at once, so every outcome depends on the individual case. For example, a customer who shopped online and fell behind on payment might receive a friendly, cooperative email on Tuesday morning, offering Apple Pay and Vipps. A person in a different situation could receive a different message, at a different time, through a different channel. If a full payment is not possible, PAIR Finance looks for a solution that works for them, such as a payment plan.

In outbound communication, PAIR Finance is using reinforcement learning. Incoming messages such as emails are classified by an internally developed collection LLM, which has been trained over years on more than 10 million inbound tickets.

Consumers notice the difference. Asked right after payment, they gave PAIR Finance 4 out of 5 stars for satisfaction. The outcome shows in the numbers: across its markets, recovery rates are on average 10 to 15 per cent above traditional providers. First experiences with Norwegian clients indicate similar results, with PAIR Finance outperforming established debt collectors after just a few months.

For businesses, satisfaction is a reputation metric. Customer acquisition is expensive, and collection is often the brand’s last contact with the customer. Handled well, collection recovers the receivable and keeps the customer. Too many people end up resenting the company they bought from. That is unnecessary, especially for e-commerce, subscription, telecoms, and mobility businesses with large volumes of small claims. That is why PAIR Finance recovers the receivable and protects the customer relationship for the company that referred the claim.

Stephan Stricker, Founder and CEO, PAIR Finance Group: “We built the AI for modern receivables management. The rules of debt collection were written in the analogue era, and Norway shows that gap clearly: consumers who expect everything to happen on their phone, yet the industry still sends the same letters for everyone. Closing that gap is exactly why we’re here. We want to change how debt collection works for consumers and businesses alike. Our ambition is to lead the way in debt collection in the Nordics and offer a unique collection experience across the region, all under one roof.”

Fredrik Green, Managing Director Norway and Sweden, PAIR Finance: “We want to show that debt collection can be done differently. A customer does not stop being valued because an invoice goes to collection. Debt collection is also customer service. Norwegian businesses want a collection partner that protects the customer relationship, not just the receivable. I built our Swedish business, so I know what it takes in the Nordics: consumers who solve everything digitally, and companies that need strong recovery rates and compliance without damaging their brand. Opening in Oslo gives Norwegian finance teams exactly that, run from a Nordic setup that already works in Sweden.”

The launch follows PAIR Finance’s expansion into Poland, Sweden, Italy and Romania in recent years. The company plans to grow further across Scandinavia.
